Anyone got some good conflict ideas? I need to start aiming my story for something. Being locked in a room is fun and all, but it gets old from a reader's stand point...

If there's a book you really want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. ~Toni Morrison

I plan to write some short stories, a few bad poems and to re-write a series or two. What do you plan on doing?

WEll there is always the classic 'underdog needs to beat and unbeatable person in something or other.' but there is a vice versa take on it. A superior, yet moral character has been challenged by a considerably lesser character in something and has to decide between giving his/her all and embarrass and dishearten the lesser character, go easy on the lesser character but still win, or allow them to win without much resistance and risk his own reputation meanwhile being influenced by his/her mentors, friends, enemies, rivals, and their friends.

It's a plot most commonly used in realistic fiction and sports books but can be worked into just about any genre.

Oh I got one... what if someone else is thrown into the room with her. Not someone for her to kill or hurt, just another occupant. Maybe a spy from her captors to learn what she knows or is planning or simply just another person who wants to get out.
